WRITER: J. Paul is a retired Special Agent of the US Army CID and Faculty Criminologist of Indiana University. He now consults as a Forensic Criminologist in Behavior Analysis. Interaction with children and young adults has played an important part in J. Paul's life. While "retired" in Florida he was Director of the Florida Twelfth Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Program for Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto Counties and a Family Counselor for the highly respected Eckerd Youth Alternatives Program. Living, working and traveling in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Far East enhanced J. Paul's appreciation for children, young and mature adults. In reality, the appreciation was the raising of six children. J. Paul developed and instructed upper level university courses in Criminal Behavior, Forensic Evidence and Criminal Investigation and has written numerous articles and lectured on these subjects. The quietness and soft beauty of Misty Meadows brought J. Paul closer to nature and the "critters" that roam and live on the meadows and in the woodlands. Their behavior was so interesting, comical and lifelike- why not introduce them to human children. During an evening walk, J. Paul and Bell watched the critters playing around them. The decision was made to write and illustrate what became known as "The Case of the Missing Egg." © ILLUSTRATOR: Bell, a member of a military family, has attended several colleges and numerous art classes throughout the United States and the Far East. During this time period she worked part time in business management and raised four children. Winning an honorable mention in her first art show launched her art career. Bell would attend art classes at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and at the Stone Lion Studio in Mount Vernon, Ohio. A side hobby was the study of writing for children. Artistic daughters Kelly and Tina and professional artist/gallery owner and friend Tonia all share the artistic lifestyle. They all are active in the art community in Knox County Ohio and they are involved in numerous art programs for children. Bell enjoys creating art that gives pleasure and whimsical artistic innovations that make the viewer smile. Bell has entered many art exhibits where she has placed best of show, first, second, third or honorable mention.
